Sophie and Rav, photos and blog by Adam Riley
Sophie and Rav know how to party!! When we first met and chatted about their day (just before they ventured to Glastonbury), it was clear that letting their hair down and having the day of their lives with friends and family was the plan of action – my type of wedding!
The Belle Epoque is a wedding venue perfect for party people. Situated on the highstreet in Knutsford, it has the most gorgeous terrace, awesome cocktails and the dance floor area gets jam packed, creating one heck of an atmosphere.
Music was the overriding theme of the day. Sophie surprised Rav with the Manchester city anthem, “blue moon” as her entrance song for the ceremony a huge city fan, this was perfect, expect for the fact Rav is a Liverpool fan – but he took it well 🙂 Later, as the party started the happy couple led a procession down the high street with Indian Dhrol summers, entering the Belle Epoque to huge cheering, with the drummers playing in unison with the talented DJ’s Deckheds. I had to use my own festival experience to fight through the crowds, pushing through to the action with my camera.
The final music surprise of the wedding followed. Years ago, Sophie created a dance routine to Paul Simon’s “Me and Julio Down by the School Yard”. Rav secretly distributed the video and assembled a guest flash mob to perform the dance to an incredibly shocked Sophie. The look on her face (below!) is priceless.
I had so much fun being the wedding photographer for this one, I think you can see why…
